DR JENNY MILLER is pushing the boundaries of customer service, offering a unique concierge service to accommodate a growing trend of patients travelling a long distance to undergo extensive dental treatment.

Recording a rise to 40 percent of patients travelling from out of town to receive dental treatment, Dr Jenny Miller decided to do something to help ease the strain on patients.

“Hundreds of our patients travel every year to see us so we know the stress of a long journey coupled with the physical strain of undergoing a lot of dental treatment, can sometimes be exhausting for patients,” said Dr Miller.

“We wanted to do everything we can to accommodate our patients so we came up with an all inclusive concierge service so our patients can have a positive, relaxing and efficient experience while undergoing intensive treatment.”

The team at Hamburg Expressions can recommend and even organize accommodation to suit patient requirements, arrange airport transfers, suggest the best restaurants to meet their tastes and can even advise on the best entertainment in the area.

“In offering this concierge service we are aiming to push the boundaries of customer service in the dental industry to create a personal and memorable experience rather than just ‘in and out’ dentistry,” she said.

“Our aim is to be at the forefront of dentistry so we always cater to our patients extra needs and requirements. We believe it’s those little added comforts that can go a long way.

Aroma therapy, is just beaded pads that we warm in the microwave , that give off a lavender scent; so that when you lay them on, they feel nice and heavy and warm on your muscles and you get the scent of the lavender through out. This is so that you don’t have so much of that dental clinical smell when you’re having procedures done.

Sometimes our female patients don’t like using our eye cover pads because it can make their mascara run, but we do offer the eye cover option if they would like. It’s the same as the other pads with the beads in the cover, but you can just put it over your eyes so if you don’t want to see what’s going on, you don’t have to. So it’s just those little additions to make going to the dentist just a little more comforting.

• If you have Orthodontia Insurance, you can pair it with your FSA to save a substantial amount of money on your orthodontia. The only approved FSA expense that can be reimbursed during the course of treatment and payments are made, is orthodontia.
• You must claim your services provided by the end of the period determined by your plan.
• Look over coverage from your insurance and expenses that you have to pay thoroughly before you determine how much to put into your FSA.  This will help you prevent losing left-over money at the end of your plan’s year and make sure to receive your eligible savings.
• Cosmetic procedures are not covered expense for your FSA.  Things like Veneers (unless it is a health issue), whitening, won’t be re-imbursed.

Every time you arrive for a dental appointment, show your dental insurance ID card.  Make sure you understand your benefits before you being to pay for dental expenses.  Be diligent and use your FSA to pay only your portion of your cost.

“Why metal free you might wonder?  Another very important part and reason not to use metal in cosmetic dentistry is the cosmetic or aesthetic effect.  If a natural tooth has a silver color and metal filling, when the light hits that tooth the light hits the tooth, hits the metal and bounces back out, turning the tooth grey.  So you can see images of a tooth that has a metal filling in it and the grey appearance the tooth has and when the metal filling is removed and replace with a tooth colored filling, how the tooth completely revitalizes becomes much brighter and you can just sense it is much healthier as a result.  So with any fillings, veneers, crowns and bridges, we are always going to search for the metal free option.”
